Excited to announce new abstract collection and product range!

Why do things always take longer than you anticipate especially when computers are involved? For weeks I have been working on uploading and updating my new collection. In fact all of my images had to be changed, uploaded, sizing and pricing set and described as I decided to move these to a new print company so I could offer a new product range. As the range of my offering is quite broad it took a while. A very long time it seemed to me. As usual nothing goes without problems and i got even more frustrated because I'm really excited about these changes and the new collection. There are also a few new botanical images which I have added to the website.

All the new images have been born out of lockdown. Been marooned in the house and not been able to travel around Scotland or further afield made me look for other ways to chanel my creativity. I had to go back to my old stock and explored other ways of creating art which also led me down the abstract route. To be quite honest I always had a difficult relationship with abstract. You might look at an abstract peace and think it is just some colour thrown at a canvas, but it is actually not that easy. Colours need to work together. Composition needs to work. Once I've actually started with abstract I learned very quickly that it is actually not that easy. But most importantly is I discovered how much fun abstract it! Not to follow any rules and just follow your intuition is so exciting and liberating. I hope you enjoy my abstract pieces as much as I had making them!

This summer I had planned to do more painting. I worked on a commission for two abstract pieces which I loved, but once I decided to move my old collections and add a new collection on the website as well this all fell to the wayside. So this will be on the agenda for the next months. I want to build up a collection of original paintings, which then will also be available for sale at some point. I'm also already thinking of my next collection in my digital collection, but for now I might just take a few days off as I've been working flat out the last few weeks and actually do some boring housework stuff!
